Ravenswood makes a special blend every year called the Icon, with the 2001 vintage comprising of 88% syrah, 6% mourvedre and 6% grenache. I was blown away at how much more yummier it was than last years, which had way less of the mourvedre and grenache. The accessible fruity palate was lead by a nice ripe nose, that mouthfeel was substantial with its mixing of lighter and darker textures. And the finish was long and drier than one would think from such a zinfandel-like jamminess.

I'm happy to offer this at $17, and expect it to go fast.

yum,
