i just enjoyed a couple glasses of Boccantino 2003 Primitovo del Salento with some pizza leftover from Rounder's http://rounderspizza.com my favorite pie in town) Its an amazingly smooth and densely favorful quaff ($8) and provides the perfect complement to pepperoni and toppings whatnot. The nose is clearly fruit ripe leading to a thick palate of cherries and excellent supporting tannins. This vino is so easy and flavorful, it qualifies as one of the finer selections on our shelves at the Whip In. Stop by and enjoy it soon, as it will have its siblings along for the ride at similar rates (an excellent Nero d'Avola, as well as a a juicy and too easy Montelpulciano d'Abruzzo)
